Radio Frequency Identification is a new technology that allows an airline to track a passenger's bag from check-in to pick up. By embedding a chip in the bag tag, airlines and airports can ensure they will always know where it is. The RFID technology was tested in Chicago in 2009. This video explains how it would be used.
